Quadtro- GIMP Tutorial

In this tutorial I will be showing you how to make a globe animation.

1. You need to open up the GIMP program.

2. Once GIMP is open you will want to go to File>Create>Patterns>Render Map...


3. I box called "Script-Fu: Render Map should pop up. Keep the Gradient on land and sea if you want it to look real.


4. When you have the settings to your ideal render map click Ok.

5. Your results should look like this, If you used the settings I did:


Congratulations, you are almost there!

6. Now you want to go to Filter>Animation>Spinning Globe...


7. You should get a window like this:


8. Just click on Ok, then wait for it to load.

9. (OPTIONAL) Go back to Filters>Animation and look for Playback... so Filters>Animation>Playback

10. Click File>Save As... and save it as Globe Animation.gif. In the Name: text field. MAKE SURE TO SAVE AS ANIMATION AFTER YOU CLICK SAVE!


11. Upload the picture to tinypic.com

12. Here is the finished product:
